Vir Stormrave is an experienced mercenary, taking jobs just to get by. While searching for another job, he meets Ruby Malone, an eccentric fellow mercenary with an alcohol problem. She propositions Vir to take a job hunting a mysterious woman named Luna Blackheart. She is reported to possess some sort of magical power that causes the deaths of people who get too close to her. Vir opts to take the mission, but when he gets close to her, he’s forced to confront something he never expected to.
