“We are gathered here today to promote Kai Senno to personal bodyguard.” Princess Ushida stood near a throne on the sanctuary stage. She read off a scroll that hovered at eye level, while Kai kneeled before her.

At the center of the sanctuary’s backdrop was an engraving of an ornate emblem. The emblem predominantly featured a cowbell, with small wings sprouting from each side. It resembled the cowbell design worn by many of the Cow Kingdom Royal Family, Ushida included.

The right pews were filled with various members of the Cow Kingdom Royal Family. Similar to Ushida, the majority of the Royal Family were young women that looked essentially human... except for their soft cow ears and eminently voluminous breasts. Her mother and father were cowtaurs, with bovine bodies that had humanoid torsos. The King would look like any other unassuming, middle-aged, male centaur if it weren’t for his robe and crown.

The Queen, however, would not be able to quietly blend into a nation of centaurs after a quick outfit change. Her breasts blocked out her torso, while boasting with a full, heavy roundness that demanded attention. Being a female cowtaur, she also sported an udder that was also impressively large. It strained between her legs even when empty. When it was full, it made walking without gravity magic impossible.

Between the more human-like family members and outright cowtaurs were other shades of human/cow hybrids. There was one who looked completely human, showing zero cow traits on the surface (and one who looked completely cow, showing zero human traits on the surface). 

The left pews, reserved for Kai’s guests, had only one person.

Ushida returned to reading from the scroll. “As one of the knighthood, you have strived to protect our peaceful way of life, upholding the barrier between order and chaos.”

“Chaos…” That word triggered feelings of guilt for Kai. He winced to himself, and thought, “As a knight, my true obligation is to the state. I should inform the Queen of Princess Ushida’s promiscuity.”

His thoughts were interrupted by Ushida’s rising voice. “As a member of my personal guard, your goal will be protecting myself, Princess Ushida. My body, my honor, and my reputation are now to be protected with your life.”

Kai knew what that meant. Revealing the truth to the King and Queen would destroy her honor.

Princess Ushida’s harem would remain a secret.
